Albert 'Al' A. Thielen
Thielen was one of the most outstanding bowlers of his time. His bowling accomplishments spanned over 3 decades from the early 1950's to the mid 1970's. He won the American Bowling Congress On-Site Award in 1952 for his 1,835 all-events score. In 1956 he was the recipient of the first Dean Norum Award (awarded for the highest single game of the Tribune Classic) for rolling a 280 game. He finished 3rd in Regular Singles Division in the 1963-64 American Bowling Congress National Tournament. Al was a member of four league championship teams and had a high game of 300 on November 27, 1960, and numerous 299 games.
