Amy E. Cordes
Amy started to take the game "seriously" in 1954 and she did most of her exceptional bowling in the late 1960's and 1970's. Amy competed in many tournaments. She won the Minnesota BPAA All-Star Tournament and represented the state in the 1960-1961 BPAA All-Star Tournament where she placed 24th. Amy became a member of the Professionals Women's Bowling Association (PWBA) in the 1960's and she competed in a few of their events. She was a lifetime member of the "les Dames de 700" Club. She won the Doubles Event in the 5th Annual Fraulein Kegle Tournament in St. Cloud, Minnesota with Karen Gabrielson in 1969. In 1972, she won the 46th Annual Tribune Classic Women's Division and she won the first Minnesota Federal Ladies Singles Tournament in 1966 with 1 697 series. At the time of her induction, she was bowling in leagues at Lariat Lanes and Cedarvale Lanes and averaging in the 170's. Her high game to her credit is 279 with three 700 series and her high of 709 came in the 1969-1970 season. She had a league high average of 190 also in the 1969-1970 season.
