Byron 'By' V. Westberg
By started bowling at age 14. He has coached junior bowlers for over 30 years starting in 1960 in the AJBC program. He attended coaching seminars put on by Chuck Hall and one of his early role models, Buddy Bomar. Another early role model of Westberg's was Bill Lillard. In addition to the juniors, By has coached and instructed adults since 1965 and is still active in both at the time of his induction. By has bowled in the following classic leagues; Northwest Masters in St. Paul, Minneapolis All-Stars, East Side Majors and the Minneapolis City Senior League. In 1988 he won the Minnesota State Senior Tournament for his age bracket and in 1989 and 1990 he was 2nd and 3rd respectively. He has donated signs for the Minneapolis District Bowling Association, Minnesota State Senior Tournament and the Minneapolis City Tournament over the years. He has been a Director in the Minneapolis District Bowling Association and has served on several committees. His high game is 289 and a series high of 781. His high end of year league average is 218.
