Charles 'Chuck' J. Vashaw
Chuck started bowling at the age of 8 and was encouraged by both his parents, who bowled. His early role model was Earl Anthony. He stated, 'who else could have it been'? Chuck could be found at Coon Rapids Lanes and he felt he was an alley rat. Now, Chuck is a member of the highly competitive Lind's Lakers Bowling Team. Chuck has 8 Central Bowlers Alliance (CBA) titles and was elected to the CBA Hall of Fame in 1999 for Superior Performance. Following are more of Chuck's bowling accomplishments, he has 4 Minneapolis City Tournament Titles: 3 State Titles, 1 Rochester Doubles Title, 5 Fargo Titles at The Bowler; 3 St. Cloud Titles and was the recipient of the George Dodor Memorial Award for the Greater St. Paul Bowling Association in 1985-86 for his 751 in the Association Championships. Chuck has won 2 St. Paul Masters and 1 Minnesota Masters Tournaments. The one that gave Chuck the best bowling tip was Dick Ritger. Also, Chuck said 'Jerry Ernster really helped him get out of his slumps'. Chuck's bowling equipment has been drilled by Dave Hoppenrath (HOF 2002) for most of his bowling career. As of his induction, he has 5-800's and 14-300's.
