David 'Dave' L. Anderson
Dave grew up in Duluth, Minnesota and in 1969 he bought Silver Bowl in Silver Bay, Minnesota. He started bowling at the age of 14. His grandfather, George 'Hots' Anderson is a member of the Minnesota State Bowling Hall of Fame and his brother Bill of Duluth, competed professionally. So, he came by his love of the game naturally. He sold the Silver Bowl in the late 1970's and moved to the Twin Cities. He was manager of Southtown Bowl in Bloomington, Minnesota and Village North Bowl in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota before becoming Executive Secretary of the Minneapolis District Bowling Association in 1984. He was the newly named president of the Minnesota Bowling Council and represented Minneapolis men at State and National American Bowling Conventions. Dave not only knew the rules of the sport, but he was also a good bowler. He had high games of 299 (1962 in Duluth) and 298 (1987 at Park Place). His high series was a 790 in the Central Bowlers Alliance (CBA) in Duluth in the early 1980's. Dave's high end of the year average was 202 at Village North Bowl.
