Gene G. Brandvold

Gene grew up in the bowling center. His parents owned and operated bowling lanes for 19 years (1948-1966) and he assisted in all phases of the bowling operation. He ran the business; organized teams and leagues; cleaning and maintaining the lanes and machines; organizing tournaments; setting pins; etc. He was a certified YABA coach for 29 years at AMF Southtown Lanes. He was involved in all areas in the bantam, junior and senior YABA leagues. He has been involved in many segments of the Minneapolis District Bowling Association for 18 years and he served on the Executive; Youth; Audit; Suspension; Finance and Budget; SMO and Hall of Fame committees and he was Vice President from 1996 to 2001 and President for 2 terms. Gene was a delegate to 18 consecutive ABC Conventions and was involved in the decisions on many key legislative decisions. Additionally he has bowled in 21 Minneapolis District Bowling Tournaments and 10 Minnesota State Tournaments as well as many other local tournaments.
