John M. Eiss

John started bowling in 1964 in Mound, Minnesota. Locally, John has won the 1975 Minneapolis City Tournament Doubles Title with Steve Smith (HOF 1999) where they had 1,382. In 1983, another doubles title in the Minneapolis City Tournament with Rick Sipprell this time when they totaled 1,408. In 1987 at the Minneapolis City Tournament he teamed with Leif Carlson (HOF 1998) when they had 1,472 to capture yet another Doubles Title. In 1989 he went it alone to capture the Minneapolis City Tournament Actual Singles Title with a 730 series. John has a Greater St. Paul Bowling Association Tournament victory coming in 1990-91 where he was part of the Actual Team Event Title. At the Minnesota State Bowling Tournament in 1975 and 1990 he was part of the team that captured the Actual and Handicapped Team Titles. As of the date of John's induction he won six (6) CBA (Central Bowlers Alliance) Titles. They are as follows: April 1976, May 1976, March 1979, December 1984, January 1986 and May 1989. He won Bowler of the Year honors in the 1990-91 CBA season and he was on the 1st team in 1975-76 & 1978-79 & 1980-81 seasons and on the 2nd team in the years: 1973-74 & 1981-82 & 1982-83 & 1985-86 & 1989-90. John competed in seventeen (17) consecutive American Bowling Congress National Tournaments starting in 1974 through 1990. His high all-events of 2,074 came in Memphis, Tennessee through the date of his induction.
