Lorayne 'Peggy' 'Peg' Torrison

Peggy was one of the best women bowlers of her time. She rolled sets of 683 and 656 in a one week span in 1947. She made her mark on Minnesota bowling during the late 1940's and early 50's.In 1947 at the Minneapolis Women's City Tournament she bowled with the Huddle Bar team when they won the Team Event. Peggy was the City All-Events Champion in 1948, 1949 and 1952. She was a Doubles Champion in 1952 and 1955. She was the Minnesota State All-Events Champion in 1952 with a 1,830. In 1948, competing in the District 7 WIBC National Sweepstakes she finished second in the nation. She held the city high average for many years. Peg also represented Minnesota at the All Star Tournament in Chicago.She was the first "bowling instructor" in the area having been hired by the Bowling Proprietors to visit member's centers to give personalized instruction. One of her first students was Shirley Sjostrom (HOF 1986).
