Mavis L. Tuttle

She began bowling in her hometown of Redwood Falls, Minnesota. Mavis has many local state and national tournaments titles to her credit. She has been listed on the WIBC National Average Listing in the 30-39 year category and has dedicated over 40 years to the sport. Mavis won the Stransky's Diamond Classic in 1951 and she won a car on Bowlerma. In 1958-1959 Mavis teamed with Scottie Rymer to win the Doubles Event in the Minneapolis Women's City Tournament, she won the Doubles Event in the 1961-1962 season with Nell Hilton (HOF 1987) and again in 1969-1970 with Anne Ford (HOF 2000). Mavis won the Minneapolis City Women's Tournament All Events Titles in 1966-1967 and in 1969-1970. She also has three Minneapolis City Tournament Team Event wins coming in 1967-1968, 1972-1973 and in 1983-1984. She has a third place finish in her first PWBA appearance in San Antonio, Texas in 1963. In 1974 she won the National "700" Tournament in Houston, Texas. In 1982-1983 and in 1985-1986 she won the Minnesota State Team Tournament. As of May 2005 she has participated in 51 USBC Women's Championship/WIBC Championship Tournaments. Her high sanctioned game is 289 with a high series of 728 bowled at Prior Lake Lanes in 1971. She had a season high average of 192 during the 1962-1963 season at Audi Bowl in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
