Richard 'Rich' J. Hommes

Rich started bowling in 1957 at Lowry-Emerson in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Rich has been involved in all aspects of the game. He has been a bowling proprietor, pro shop owner (Left Right Pro Shop) and a competitive bowler for many years. The teams he has bowled with include; Joyner's, 7UP and Dexter Shoes while competing in the Minneapolis Traveling League, Minneapolis Classic League, Minneapolis All-Star, Minneapolis Masters and the Twin City Classic. He has many titles to his name. His first title was in the Minneapolis City Tournament where he was the All-Events Champion in 1968 with a 1,894. He won the Doubles crown in Hibbing with Virg Enger (HOF, 1981) and finished in second place in singles that year. He teamed with Rod Toft to win the Peterson Classic Doubles in 1978 and then set the all time record for doubles with an impressive 1,395 and he finished 3rd in singles that year with 1,648. In 1991 Rich was partnered with Bill Johnson and they went on to win the Doubles Title in Fairmont at the King Kernel Open. He is also a great team bowler. He has been part of the winning team at St. Cloud, Minnesota six (6) times; Garden Center in Alexandria, Minnesota twice; and has one Team Title in the following tournaments; Fargo, North Dakota Team Event at the Bowler, the State Team Event in 1988 at Midway Pro Bowl and the Minneapolis City Tournament Team Event in 1992 with Dexter Shoes. He has competed in the American Bowling Congress National Tournament for over 30 years with an average over 190. His highest finish is a 4th place finish in the 1991 Team Event. Rich has 5 - 300's and 2 - 800 series coming in 1969-70 at Lowry-Emerson and 1981-82 at Maplewood.
