Thomas 'Tom' R. Corbette

Tom started bowling in 1967 at Mady's Bowling Center by starting in the American Junior Bowling Congress (AJBC) program. Corbett was the Central Bowlers Alliance (CBA) Statistician from 1984-92. In 1992 Tom took over the CBA from John Dorek and served as Tournament Director to the present. He holds one CBA championship with that coming in October 1986. Tom has two 2nd place finishes that happened to be back to back in August and September 1987. In 1987-88, he was selected to the CBA All-Star Team. Tom has been the captain of the powerful Lind's Lakers Tournament Team from 1986 to the present. This team is comprised of local bowlers and has won many of the local tournaments. Tom has been a part of the following local titles: two team championships in the Minneapolis City Tournament, (1989 and 1991); Minneapolis City Tournament Doubles title in 1990 with Scott Sodergren (HOF 2000); Minneapolis City Tournament 4th place singles finish in 1992 totaling 739; Minnesota State Championship Team title in 1987; Minnesota State Championship 2nd place Doubles with Scott Sodergren in 1993; two (2) St. Paul City Championships Doubles titles, one in 1979 with Tom Margotto and the other in 1986 with Scott Sodergren; St. Paul City Championships All-Events crown in 1989 with a 1,970. Out state, Tom has the following titles: We'll start with the Kegle Tournament in St. Cloud where they won the Team Event in 1990, 1991 and 1992; in Fargo, North Dakota at The Bowler they won the Team Event in 1992, 1994 and 1996; at Fairmont, Tom was part of a Team Title in 1990; in Rochester they won the Team Event in 1991 and 1992. Other scoring accomplishments include the following: 2nd place finish in the MN Masters in 1986; 3rd place US Open Qualifying in 1986; World Team Challenge 3rd place finish in Dublin, California in 1994 and a 4th place finish in 1994 at Valley Creek Lanes in Woodbury. Tom has also served as Tournament Director for the Minnesota Masters Tournament from 1989 to present with Al Larsen and Minneapolis Masters Tournament Director from 1996 to the present with Mark Steiner. Tom's high game is 300 (8) and a high series of 804. His high end of year average is 218.
