Val D. Manning

Val has been very active in all levels of bowling. Locally, Val is a Director of the Minneapolis Women's Bowling Association Board and President of the Minneapolis YABA Association for 12 years. She has served on the board since 1992. Val has served on the following committees over the years; City Tournament, BVL, Minneapolis 500 Club, Nominating Committee, Hall of Fame, Newsletter Star and Sunshine Committee. She was an integral part of the transition team that transitioned the ABC and WIBC and YABA into the USBC. She has provided learning workshops for the league officers and provided them detailed instructions and keeping them apprised of the changes for use in their leagues. Val has served as youth advisor for eight years. She was instrumental in creating a Minneapolis "All City" Youth Team and awards for Coach, Volunteer, Proprietor and Youth Leader of the Year and a youth match play league. She has been the Conference Coordinator for the NW Metro High School League for nine years, the Osseo High School League Coach for 15 years, and the coordinator of the Youth Metro Traveling League for 15 years. She has organized and run the Youth Bowling Camp for four years and organized the Award's Banquet for the YABA tournament winners the past seven years. Val has attended the USA Junior Olympics Bowling Coaching Seminars and is a Certified Level I, II and Bronze Coach. At the state level she has participated in the state tournaments, conventions and the annual Jamboree for at least the past 15 years. Nationally, Val has participated in the WIBC National Tournament for the past 20 years. She has attended numerous YABA International Workshops and helped organize the volunteers when the workshop was held in Minneapolis in 1999. She has bowled in the National Mixed Tournament and served the National YABA Conventions as the local representative and youth leader. She continues to attend Leadership Conferences held at headquarters. Most recently, she has been elected to the USBC Board of Directors. Val bowls in several leagues and her high game is 266 with a high series of 714.
