Walter 'Wally' L. Kiffmeyer
Wally has promoted bowling from the service side for many years. He has been a league secretary since the 1960's. He served as the Secretary/Treasurer for the State Senior Men's Traveling League for 12 years. Wally was a fixture when it came to the Special Olympics in Minnesota. He volunteered at the 3-day event every year and he helped at the Minnesota State Fall Classic Bowling Tournament for 15 years, the State Unified Tournament for 15 years and the Area 12 Tournament in St. Paul for three years. He served as a volunteer on many committees for the National Paralyzed Veterans Association for the last two years. Wally was a Director of the Minneapolis USBC Association from 1984 through 2004. He has served as the Minneapolis USBC Association lane representative for Apple Place in Apple Valley, Minnesota for 14 years and at Lyn-Del Lanes in Bloomington, Minnesota for three years. He has been an Association Representative from 2004 to the present. He has been the co-chair of the BVL Committee from 1996 to the present and he served as Chairperson of the Seniors Committee for two years. He has attend five National Conventions and served as a National Delegate each of those years. Wally began bowling in 1932 at 3rd Avenue and Lake Street. He was in the Post Office League for 30 years from 1948-1977. He served the Post Office Sports Council and did four years as the President and he worked the Post Office Tournaments with Norm Marietta for 37 years. Wally worked many state and local tournaments in whatever capacity they needed him in. Wally is a Member of the Minnesota State Hall of Fame for Softball (1989) and in the National Wheelchair Softball Association Hall of Fame (1999) and he has a hole in one in golf.
